Members of the Pataxo Hahahae indigenous community are no longer in danger of forced eviction as they voluntarily left the seven farms they were occupying in the Alegrias region in Bahia state in mid-April. In December 2008, the Brazilian Supreme Court upheld the Pataxo Hahahaes` claim to their ancestral lands, restoring 54,100 hectares territories lost to immigrant farmers.
