The new Routledge Handbook on Extraterritorial Human Rights Obligations has just been published and it is available in open access here.

This new handbook compiles lessons and analysis by world experts on the human rights obligations of states beyond their territorial borders. It is designed to give meaning and context to these norms, especially for students and practitioners of international relations, foreign policy and law.

Operationalizing these obligations brings us closer to a world in which behavior of states and governments aligns with international law, world order and peace with respect to human rights for all. As human rights are borderless, they apply in multiple locations, situations and policy fields, including:
