Source: COHRE In January 2006, 300 heavily armed police officers and agents of the Special Forces violently evicted 200 families from State owned houses in Puerto Vilelas in Chaco Province. These families had moved into the houses following a storm that had left them homeless in December 2005. The Municipality ordered their eviction, and police used excessive force while carrying out the order, injuring several people with rubber bullets.
