Summary:

On 2 April 2009, seven Moroccan men were evicted from their rented apartment in Gibraltar. Only three of the men were in arrears for their rent payment. No notice was given and the men were not given time to collect their belongings, including warm clothes for the night and medications. The eviction may have been in response to an article printed in The Guardian about the treatment of Moroccans in Gibraltar as "second class citizens". The article indicated that "Foreigners have no access to low-rent public housing."
